Aon cut-e numerical test

Most timed tests give you enough time if you are efficient. cut-e modules generally do not, and that is the measurement. By pushing a high item count at a short per-item limit, the score becomes a rate: correct answers per unit time. Candidates who try to guarantee accuracy on every item score worse than candidates who keep moving.

The behavioural implication is uncomfortable but real. An empty answer and a wrong answer usually score identically, so hesitating to avoid a mistake costs you the item you would otherwise have reached. Commit to a number and move on.

Percentages, ratios, exact division, fractions of a quantity, and interpretation of small tables — plus, in the aviation batteries, monitoring and spatial modules that run alongside. The arithmetic is not advanced. The pressure is entirely in the tempo and in how little attention you have left over.

cut-e is used heavily across aviation by both airlines and flying schools, which is why the same battery turns up at carriers with otherwise very different processes. Reported pairings include Ryanair, Jet2, Aer Lingus and Norwegian.

Practise with a per-question clock rather than an overall time budget, because that is how the scoring works. Set a limit you can hit about eighty percent of the time, then shorten it. Never practise untimed once the basics are in — untimed practice trains a different skill and flatters your accuracy.

Then remove the calculation cost entirely: times tables to 20 × 20 as recall, percentage blocks, squares and cubes. What remains is route selection, which is the only thing worth thinking about with seconds on the clock.
